best D/A solutions

Im running 8.0.1 LE and I need 16 channels of A/D conversion, who has been through this and found the solution? Avalon? (not cheap) 96i,? or a DAW console? let me know your thoughts and ideas.......

for 8 a 002/003 with some other 8 channel ADC with ADAT Lightpipe out is your only method

the Beringher unit seems to be the best budget option for the extra 8 ADC

Might want to change the subject line to "A/D". Slightly different bucket of fish, since there might be different types of solutions involving mic-pre's.

You can't use the 96i with your LE system. It's HD only. Plus no support even for HD starting in the next software revision.

Depending on your budget, you might want to keep an eye out for the previous generation of Apogee AD16's (pre-x series, solid purple front). Certainly can be had cheaper than the current generation and sound great/work just fine if you feed them clock.

Is the Apogee Ensemble out of your range? I don't know the Avalon unit.

I had a 96, and the Apogees were a step up, more similar to 192 quality, possibly a little better. So I can recommend any Apogee solution that does 24/96. I don't know your needs entirely. I still run everything 24-44.
