Latency Latency Latency

M-Audio 2496

Tried playing a MIDI track and recording as audio in the same session. The difference between the start of the MIDI note and the start of the audio waveform was 100 ms! DMA buffer set at 128 samples.

Tried the same experiment in Cubase. Difference was 8 ms which is about what I would expect.

Why so much latency in PT?
