I am also torn between the S3 and a D-Command to be honest. I am using a D-Command everyday at work but both the small footprint and the 16 faders of the S3 have started to be appealing. But I hate the fact that there is no clear indication on changing automation modes. I wonder how it function along with the iPad app.

Btw, I am taking the chance to post here - just in case anyone is interested - the sale of a Pro Control unit, three Fader Packs and an Edit Pack (also a PCIe HD2 rig among other things).

If anyone is interested and is in the UK, drop me a line.

How anyone on this subsection of the DUC can honestly say they are considering purchasing yet another controller from the company who has already screwed them over on a previous one is beyond me.

I am....

D-Command used seems really nice - almost too deep for me

S3 - seems really cool and easy, and being Eucon would be supported for the better part of the next 10 years

The S3 might look nice . . .

. . . but Record Arm & Track Select buttons between the tightly-packed faders ! ?

10-segment LED meters. Mutes & Solos not centered on the faders. I could go on . . .

Wow. Idiotic physical design. Epic ergonomic fail. Mind boggling.

Wish I could get a "6" segment LED on the HD I/O

Yes, but not new. I categorically will not give Avid any "new" money of mine. Instead, I will regurgitate what's already out there buying used equipment.

If Avid wants my money, then they need to give something back besides fancy marketing and extortion membership methods.
