just bought a new external reverb unit, need help

Hello. I am really new to the whole computer based audio game, so please please help out as much as you can. I hope i don't sound to lame here.

Ok, I have a 002R, and just bought a TC electronics M300. It has the S/PDIF connecters on the back, so i thought i would use those. How do i use them? How can i make the M300 an insert in the track, like the other plug-ins. Basically how can i set it up, using S/PDIF, to make the effects actually come through. Please, if you have the time, give me easy to follow instructions.

you connect the spidfs respectively with 002r digital out to M300 digital in

and vice versa

then in hardware setup uncheck spidf mirroring

then to send to it in the bus section send to spidf out and on an AUX track set input to spidf in

i cannot find anywhere in my hardware setup anything that says "uncheck s/pdif mirroring."

That option doesn't exist with the 002R, don't worry about it. Just set it up like mersisblue suggested and skip that part

I still couldn't get any sound, none of the LED's are lighting up on the M300 either. Can you explain the process in more detail?

just make sure you have the cables put in right way: 002R:s output into M300:s input and the other way, and then make sure you have the M300 set to use the digital connection.

in protools, you select insert just the same way as any plugin, but instead of selecting plugin from the plugin list you select spdif i/o from the i/o list. it's that simple.

You also need ot ast the i/o on the TC to digital.
