Default Fast track Duo causes win7 to crash

Hi, I've bought Fast track duo, but can't get it to work.

Every time I plug it into my computer, Win7 crashes with a blue screen.
Errors are:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
0x0000007e
avidfasttrackduo.sys
A432e959

I have installed Pro Tools Express, but can't open it without plugging the fast track in my computer.

My computer is an:
Intel core i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz
4,00 GB RAM

I Run Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit)

Default Fast track Duo causes win7 to crash

Have you installed the latest driver? http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...ck-duo-drivers

See the note on blue screen fix. And you should also be optimizing your system for
Pro Tools, including disabling power management. Start at the "Help us help you..." Link on this web page.

Default Re: Fast track Duo causes win7 to crash

The crash is still showing avidfasttrackduo.sys right?

Are you sure you did the install properly and the files installed are showing as the correct versions. E.g. check the driver version in the device manager.

Make sure you ran the installer with the Duo disconnected from the PC. If not run the uninstaller if there is one (or use device manager to remove the drivers), disconnect the interface, reboot and reinstall again.

If that is not it, try the Fast Track in an another PC or Mac. If it works there then do a wipe and clean Windows 7 install on your systems, with a bare minimum of needed drivers (e.g. for your GeForce), install the interface drivers and nothing else (no antivirus software, no Pro Tools etc.) and get this working first as the Windows system audio device (no Pro Tools) before adding anything else. If it works make a backup. If you have a spare drive do this new OS install onto that.

The crash isn't showing avidfasttrackduo.sys just IRQL...
The fast track duo has 2 drivers to choose from, so it should be the right one I've chosen.
I have not installed the drivers with the FT connected.
I've tried to unistall the USB-port and disabling the windows update when connecting it.
I don't have another PC to try it on and would hate to reinstall win7.

What two drivers show up and what/when are you choosing them?

The panic happens exactly when? When you install the driver? When you boot? When you connect the interface? When you start Pro Tools etc.

Disconnect as many peripherals as you can, unisntall all the Fast Track drivers you can find, try to reinstall the drivers. If that does not work then you'll be doing a full clean Windows install (and if you brought a typical PC loaded with crapware, the first thing to do when you get it is to wipe and reinstall Windows).

I have found the drivers here: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...+track+drivers

Windows crashes a short time after I connect the fast track duo.
The fast track duo control panel works, and shows the FTD disconnected and connected when I connect it.

Are you connecting the FTDuo to a USB 3 (blue) or USB 2 (black) port? Try using USB2 if you aren't already. Also be sure to download the latest drivers for your motherboard chipset and USB controllers.

I just want to know exactly what you are doing, not that there are two drivers to choose from in the download page, I know that I pointed you there. You have uninstalled all the FT drivers, detached the interface, rebooted the PC, down loaded a new copy of the ***1.0.4*** drivers and installed them, then attached the interface? It is important you never let plug and play try to install drivers for the interface.

Does the driver version in the device manager and the version shown in the control panel (if it shows one) match what you think you just installed?

Yes, I did it this way. And the two matched.
I have made a new windows installation, and hope it works.
I used the USB 3.0, but will try the 2.0 now.
