Hey Digi...PT shuffle sucks...
When I'm running a big session and try to instantiate a new plug or whatever, it is so frustrating to have PT go thru it's DSP shuffle. Most often it ends in a message saying I'm out of resources. It would seem to me that this could be eliminated. PT shuffles if it must, but if the answser is "no" why can't PT know this before it starts? This is one of the things I like most about Macs vs. PCs when trying to copy a file to a drive. With Macs, the OS knows if you can or not and tells you right up front. Why can't PT do the same? Besides that, I have found in ver 6.x this made the session unstable. 7 Seems better at handling this, but still...
Digi...can you fix this? Isn't it a matter of just keeping with the math as it goes along? |

Re: Hey Digi...PT shuffle sucks...
Sometimes you can rearrange the plug-ins on the cards in a different way that what ProTools does and actually get everything to fit. This was only with a few plugin combinations for me, but it is possible for PT to get the arrangement wrong.
