Not enough memory - Kontakt 5
Hi guys, I'm hoping someone out there can help...?
I'm running Pro Tools 8.05 on Windows XP. it has generally been running fine (well, as fine as Pro Tools ever runs!), but lately it has been crashing regularly. The main culprit seems to be London Solo Strings, which I purchased last February. I have attempted to run this with various versions of Kontakt player (currently using 5) and all seem to give me problems. The session I'm running has four vocal tracks (with three plug-ins on each) and 5 instrument tracks: a BFD track, a Battery track, an Xpand track a UVI workstation track and then the strings on Kontakt 5. It's generally running very 'sluggish' and after about 20 minutes of programming I begin to get errors, the main one being "not enough memory" - at this point there is no return, a crash is inevitable (the computer begins to freeze up and I have to force quit the program). I'm using Moo0 resource monitor which shows nothing out of the ordinary going on, in fact it says that I have over 1GB of free memory when I have the session open, so everything looks sweet. I've tried trashing the preferences, restarting the system etc. Everything runs OK for half an hour before the crashes begin again. Without London Solo Strings the system appear stable. I have asked Big Fish Audio support for help, but they have no ideas. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Roger Here is my Sandra report: < Computer > Model: System manufacturer System Product Name Workgroup: WORKGROUP Host Name: nation-53676e5d User: Roger < Processor > Model: AMD Athlon(tm) II X3 435 Processor Speed: 3GHz Cores per Processor: 3 Unit(s) Threads per Core: 1 Unit(s) Type: Tri-Core Integrated Data Cache: 3x 64kB, Synchronous, Write-Back, 2-way, Exclusive, 64 byte line size L2 On-board Cache: 3x 512kB, ECC, Synchronous, Write-Back, 16- way, Exclusive, 64 byte line size < Computer > Mainboard: Asus M4A785TD-M EVO BIOS: AMI 0918 01/07/2010 Bus(es): ISA X-Bus PCI PCIe IMB USB FireWire/1394 i2c/ SMBus Multi-Processor (MP) Support: No Multi-Processor Advanced PIC (:Yes Total Memory: 3.25GB DIMM DDR3 < Chipset > Model: ASUS RS780 Host Bridge Alternate Front Side Bus Speed: 2x 2GHz (4GHz) Total Memory: 128MB Shared Memory: 368MB Channels: 2 Memory Bus Speed: 2x 670MHz (1.34GHz) < Chipset > Model: AMD F10h Athlon 64/Opteron/Sempron HT Hub Front Side Bus Speed: 2x 2GHz (4GHz) Total Memory: 4GB DIMM DDR3 Channels: 2 Memory Bus Speed: 2x 670MHz (1.34GHz) < Memory Module(s) > Memory Module: Kingston 9905402-015A05LF 1GB DIMM DDR3 PC3- 10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-25 4-34-10-5) Memory Module: Kingston 9905402-015A05LF 1GB DIMM DDR3 PC3- 10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-25 4-34-10-5) Memory Module: Kingston 99U5474-002A01LF 1GB DIMM DDR3 PC3- 10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-25 4-34-10-5) < Video System > Video Adapter: ATI Radeon HD 4200 (40 SP, 384MB, Integrated Graphics) Video Adapter: ATI Radeon HD 4200 (40 SP, 384MB, Integrated Graphics) < Graphics Processor > STREAM Processor: ATI Radeon HD 4200 (40SP, Integrated Graphics) < Storage Devices > Seagate ST3250318AS (250GB, SA:233GB (C:) Seagate ST3750528AS (750.2GB, :699GB (E:) Seagate ST3250823A (250GB, ATA:233GB (D:) HL-DT-STDVD-ROM GDR8164B (ATA3:N/A (F:) PLEXTOR DVDR PX-880SA (SATA1:N/A (G:) < Logical Storage Devices > Hard Disk (C:): 233GB (NTFS) @ Seagate ST3250318AS (250GB, SATA300, 3.5", 7200rpm, NCQ, 8MB Cache) Audio (E:): 699GB (NTFS) @ Seagate ST3750528AS (750.2GB, SATA300, 3.5", 7200rpm, NCQ) Hard Disk (D:): 233GB (NTFS) @ Seagate ST3250823A (250GB, ATA100, 3.5", 8MB Cache) Optical Drive (F:): N/A @ HL-DT-STDVD-ROM GDR8164B (ATA33, DVD+-R, CD-R, 256kB Cache) Optical Drive (G:): N/A @ PLEXTOR DVDR PX-880SA (SATA150, DVD+- RW, CD-RW, 2MB Cache) < Peripherals > LPC Hub Controller 1: ASUS IXP SB600 SMBUS Controller LPC Hub Controller 2: ASUS SB700 LPC host controller LPC Legacy Controller 1: ITE IT8712F Audio Device: ASUS IXP SB600 High Definition Audio Controller Audio Codec: VIA 0397h Audio Device: ASUS RS880 Audio Device [Radeon HD 4200] Audio Codec: ATI (AMD) HDMI Audio Serial Port(s): 1 Parallel Port(s): 1 Disk Controller: ASUS SB700 SATA Controller [IDE mode] Disk Controller: ASUS SB700 IDE USB Controller 1: ASUS SB700 USB OHCI0 Controller USB Controller 2: ASUS SB700 USB OHCI1 Controller USB Controller 3: ASUS SB700 USB EHCI Controller USB Controller 4: ASUS SB700 USB OHCI0 Controller USB Controller 5: ASUS SB700 USB OHCI1 Controller USB Controller 6: ASUS SB700 USB EHCI Controller USB Controller 7: ASUS SB700 USB OHCI2 Controller FireWire/1394 Controller 1: ASUS IEEE 1394 Host Controller FireWire/1394 Controller 2: Avlab Technology TSB43AB23 1394a-2000 OHCI PHY/link-layer Controller SMBus/i2c Controller 1: ATI SB600 SMBus SMBus/i2c Controller 2: ATI AFS SMBus |
