Hi Eddie, the Midi RX light on the Xmon does not flicker when hooked up to the Uno.

Thanks Eddie. Pretty sure you are correct. Last night, after reviewing the breakout cable pdf, I believe I have pin 4 and pin 5 swapped. I used the midi cable diagram on the pdf, which shows a female connector. But I built the cable with male connectors, so pin 4 pin 5 swap. My bad all along. Doh!! I'll be able to test this tomorrow at the studio, but I'm sure it's going to work now. Thanks for your's and MrDibS help!

Well, I still don't have it working. Since I'm using male midi connectors (instead of female in the drawing), I thought swapping pin + and - would work for me. It didn't. Not sure what to check next...

I can't be sure what isn't right but I can share pictures of my dB25 connections. The grey wires are the midi cables. They are male connectors as well.
