Default Stacked recording?

Hello
This probably is a stupid question but..

I've come from recording in Cubase and when I record a track in there and then record over that the takes are stacked on top of each other. So if I want I can easily pick up the first recording.

Is it possible to do in PTLE? If so how?

Appreciate all the help I can get.

Thanks

Yes... the little arrows beside the track name in the edit window, provide you with all of your "Playlist" options.

Record a vocal on a track named VOX then click on the little arrows.
Select "NEW PLAYLIST"
the track will now be named VOX.01 and appear blank
record another vocal, and repeat the 1st 2 steps, until you feel you've enough takes for your comp.

every time you add a playlist, the drop down menu that appears when you click the little double arrows, will provide you with a list of playlists "Virtually stacked" on top of one another ie...
VOX
VOX.01
VOX.02
VOX.03

etc...

Create a NEW playlist... call it something like VOX.COMP

it will be a blank playlist.

now you can flip between playlists, auditioning regions, Copy a good section by highlighting and CTRL+C
flip to your VOX.COMP Playlist, and CTRL+V to paste.

this is one of Many different ways to comp a vocal, every engineer has their own work habbits.

Generally, I personally do NOT create a NEW Playlist... I take the "Best performance" and use it as my main Comp, only editing in from the other playlists, area's I'd like to Fix.
