Expansion Chassis Advice on 4 or 6 Slot

I am considering my upgrade options right now, going from PPC G5 to an Intel Mac Pro. I've read in threads that the PE6R4 chassis does not introduce any latency, does anyone here own/use/have experience with the PCI4DRQ 4 slot chassis?

For the extra money I don't need the 6 slot, I have 3 cards now and would consider bumping up to 4 which would be more than enough. I just want to make sure I don't make a bad purchase decision and get something that will introduce incompatibility issues/problems (more so than a chassis already can/will). I also realize the 4 slot isn't officially qualified by Avid.

Any wisdom would be most appreciated!

Hi,

Can't say if the PCI4DQ will or won't fulfill your needs but the specs for the 4 slot are quite a bit less than the PE6R4

i ended up getting that chassis and i'm having an amazing amount of problems... but not sure it's the chassis

all works fine in native

anybody having DAE errors with this chassis??

I don't know if this helps, but I'm using the Magma ExpressBox 4 which is a 4-slot PCIe-to-PCIe chassis and having no problems. I also have a UAD2-Solo and UAD2-Duo inside the computer (MacPro 8-core, 2.GHz.). Everything seems to get along.
