Default lexicon thru s/pdif in 11r to pro tools problem

Hi guys first time writer long time reader.

This is the situation I have an eleven rack as my interface and I have a lexicon mx300 reverb unit hooked up via the 11r s/pdif connections. When I go into pro tools I/o settings the s/pdif path is not showing and to be straight out honest im not too sure how to rerout it even if that is the issue. When looking at the 11r in the I/o settings box it reads analogue ins digital ins line ins and so on but no s/pdif... its doing my head in, ive even looked in the pro tools 101 book but im unsure as to what I need to look for.

Any info would be great, thanks guys.

Couple of things to do. Start by going to Setup>IO and hitting the DEFAULT on both input and output tabs. If SPDIF still doesn't appear, manually add the paths and click so the grid has them(same as the analog IO). Next, you probably need to go into the Utility menu on the Lexicon to assign IO to digital instead of analog(at least, this is how it worked on my TC M-ONE). Then, you need to make sure the sample rate of the Lex and the session are the same. Finally, you must clock things correctly so that one unit is the master. Since you will have SPDIF going in both directions, see if the Utility menu on the Lex allows you to select external clock. Fingers crossed

Hi,

So you've got digital on 5/6. In the hardware setup page. Now there should be a setting on the right to select either optical digital or SpDif digital. Obviously you need SpDif.

You need to go to the I/O setup page inserts tab and create a stereo insert for the reverb and assign it to ins/outs 5/6. Then make sure 5/6 are not assigned in the inputs and outputs tabs as we'll.

Then the reverb should be inserted using rather hardware inserts in the plugins menu.

Chris

So I tried changing the digital to s/pdif and nothing was there. I also tried to just run with the digital but its greyed out.

Eleven rack digital input clock source is internal.
Sample rate is 48khz but I opened up a new session and ren 44.1

Lexicon 300 input clock is digital
Clock source is dig 44.1
Digital out is processed

Its kinda like s/pdif isnt registering. Im trying to check if s/pdif mirroring is activated but I cant seem to find a way to do that.

Hey mate yeah ive done that but according to the lexicon manual it needs to read digi locked on the clock source but this is not happening so my guess is its not synching with my 11r. Within pro tools my 11r is the master sooooo, does anyone know how I can manually synch it within the lexi... cheers
