Sure, lets get Avid to build a whole new separate 'console' application so that it can be like Luna, which is trying to be like Pro Tools.

A BIG Yes for „CTM On“ option when working with carbon - and for sure when you are use a external hardware console.

Input persist at any time - even in playback/pre&post roll together with the playback track.

Listen back with an artist together and hear what the artist is saying to a recorded part.

The UA Basics video shows how great this Option is (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WdlzkSqs2ds)

And if someone don‘t want/need that - let that option off. Very simple for all.

Never said build a whole console so it could be like Console/Luna, I said it would be great to have this type of feature implemented.

But in PT with non-avid hardware you can turn off auto-input so that you only listen from the external analog console. This is not possible with carbon (yes I know, this is not the dsp concept behind carbon, but this option or a other workaround would be nice like a „ctm mode“.
The fast and easy solution would be to have a option to turn off „monitoring a recording track while recording“. Than you could use an aux track as an input, monitoring (engineer + artist independent) from this aux track while recording and feed the recording audio channel from that monitoring aux track if you want to track with plugins enabled or set the recording track to the same input if you don‘t want the plugin sound recorded. And we don‘t need another console software.
All users are happy (dsp tracking, „ctm mode“, analog console)
And this option already exists in pro tools version but not for carbon users. Would be very simple to engage in PT 2021.10 or 11 - Avid are you following this?

I don't get that impression at all. Luna emulates a console in ways PT also does, so they unavoidably share certain qualities, as every DAW does. Luna feels quite different to me.

HEAR HEAR. I’m very close to pulling the trigger for an HDX system , but I’m so attached to this workflow with an ‘always live’ input while tracking vocalists, that it feels like a step back when this is not possible with HDX, while this is possible in the Native environment in low latency input monitoring on.

Also, smart thinking, if such an option would be there it solves it all, make a track preset for the live vocal input aux with an Aax DSP compressor on it and a reverb send, and you can punch in on any vocal track in the session.

Also think about situations where you want to punch in on vocal tracks with heavy fx / filters etc on it: it’s no fun to disable those inserts first before you’re ready to track , and recording on a separate vocal track and then dragging each take to the destination track is also a really time consuming workflow killer.

Would be awesome if it could be implemented!
