Nudge
Okay guys...here goes. I finished a complete song but the band decided to add a intro of some special effect stuff like a plane flying over sort of thing with some talking. I can't figure out how to nudge the whole song up far enough to start the songs after the intro now! I used the nudge tool however certain tracks came in "late" or not in the right place.
Can someone explain what I need to do here? Even after 7 months I am still a newbie on certain things and the nudge tool I have never grasped yet. Thanks.

Re: Nudge
Why not click and drag or cut and paste the entire project to the desired starting point.

Re: Nudge
my way would be:
go to edit window, under "groups" select "all", go to any track/region and select it with grabber tool. Now you should have selected everything. select "grid"mode and if you like 1 full bar and drag your tracks to your desired position. So you moved all your tracks AND your automation even on AUX- and Mastertracks. good luck j

Re: Nudge
Dragging will work too, but if you have markers or tempo changes, or other information in the Conductor rulers they can't be dragged. If you select everything including the information in Conductor rulers you can cut and paste them together.
Also to ensure that you're selecting the entire song, after you've activated the "ALL" group and selected a region, hit cmd+A to select everything in all tracks (make sure all of your tracks are visible when you do this of course!). Remember that this will only move the information on the visible playlists, any regions on unused playlists will remain where they were. If you move the song by a nice round amount (2 bars, 5 seconds, etc.) it should be easy enough to conform any unused playlists if you need to use them later. Oh yeah, and save as a new version before you do any major surgery like this. If you do screw something up you can always revert to the unscrewed version. |

Re: Nudge
Consolidate your tracks
Use the Insert Time function That's it! |
