Default Re: How's 12.4 running for you?

12.3.1 on 10.8.5 has been surprisingly great! I'm working all day long in Pro Tools and seeing about 1 crash a day.

12.4 is less stable. I'm seeing more like 3-4 crashes a day from it. It seems to have solved many problems I was having with memory leaks in the past. However, I am mostly getting crashes during autosaves.

If you're really concerned about stability. Personally, I'd test bare PT's, then install one plugin at a time and test. That way if you have a bogus plugin, you're not chasing your tail finding the culprit.

I did this with my first clean install, found a problem with AIR instruments. It appeared to be a corrupt install. Ever since, just been updating over old with no problems at all.

Be sure to 'unhide' your Avid folder so you can get access to you Plugin folder.

Still rock solid over here on my test drive OSX 10.10.5 PT 12.4.0. El Cap had nothing to offer in the long run.

i7 Mac with 32 gig of ram. Mavericks OS. No problems at all. But then again I've had virtually no problems since I jumped from 7 to 11 nearly 2 years ago. The only issues I've ever had are with iK Multimedia plug-ins that cause my system to crash when I insert them.

Windows 10 64bits, hp envy 17 j185nr + evo 840 ssd + focusrite Scarlett 18i20.
PT 12 works when it wants.
If I restart the computer and use only Pro Tools it works fine, but if I close PT, I received ilok errors. In Sonar all works fine and ilok is working ok.
I need restart the computer to get work again.
The graphics are slow sometimes and mouse moves intermittently.
PT 14.3 works better here. Not 100%...

I experienced this yesterday when inserting a IK EQ plug. It's the first time I've had a crash with 12.4. I've also found Sampletank to be a huge drain on system resources when running at low buffer settings. No problems with NI's stuff.

Shoot I can't find it right now. You can do it in terminal, or there's another way. I found it the other day by doing a Google search. It's on here somewhere.

For those who are posting W10 systems and issues. Just a reminder to READ the 'read me' for PT12.4...it is NOT qualified for W10.
