Default 002R works with PT 10 but no other apps??

I just installed PT 10 tonight and it seems to be working fine so far. But now my 002R won't interfce with iTunes, Toast Titanium, or web browsing. Something happened with the installation of PT 10 and the updated PT 10 interface drivers. In fact when I open iTunes and click on a song to play, I get the rainbow wheel of death for about 15 seconds and then nothing. The playback display just sits on zero. Has anyone experienced this?

So does Pro Tools recognize the 002? You didn't mention if you reinstalled the drivers after you you started having problems. If not, then start there and check to see if your device is the default.

Thanks for the reply. Yes PT recognizes the 002 without any problem. The problem occurs when i try to use the 002 to run iTunes, Toast Titanium, or listen to sound while web browsing. I installed the PT 10 drivers for the 002 just prior to installing PT 10. Why would apps other than PT 10 not be able to use the 002? I never had this issue with PT 8 LE.

You said "prior"? Reinstall them after Pro Tools. I also assume its the latest drivers Avid has released. I had similar problems with my Mbox 3 Pro and usually a computer shutdown and boot with the device connected and on should fix the problem. Did you also check the preferences in the apple menu? (or windows? You weren't specific on the OS you use)

Do you have the 002R setup as your audio device in System Preferences? Which version of OSX are you running?

I got the problem figured out. I had a corrupt Mac hard drive. Not sure how that happened but I know I had no issues prior to installing PT 10.3.5, the PT 10 002R drivers, and Melodyne Editor 2. I had to do a Disk Utility disk repair from the Snow Leopard installation disc. Somehow a volume file count was off by 3 files in two places. Disk repair fixed the problem and then I had to get all the audio midi setup and prefs straightened out. It's all working fine now.
