Default Update 11.1.2 to 11.3

Hi there,

do I have to completely remove the 11.1.2 version before updating to 11.3? Or will Pro Tools automatically udpdate the old version when I run the installation file?
Regards

Tom

Avid suggests uninstalling the older version of Pro Tools 11 before installing the latest version.

Hi Benoni,

will I have to reinstall all plugins again after I install the PT 11.3 version or will they all be recognized by the new version? I am asking because I work on several projects at the moment and I am not sure whether I should make the update now or better do it the safe way and wait until the projects are finished.

You don't have to uninstall your plugins, just Pro Tools. They will still be there in the latest version.

If you have a deadline though it's usually best to finish what you are doing before updating unless there is a specific feature/bug fix that you just must have to finish your work.

And backup first before doing any upgrade/update/install/uninstall using Acronis True Image Home or similar.

Cheers,
