Artist mix pan knob not working

I only noticed this recently too. Not fixed but did find a clue to the problem. Artist Control.

In test mode, pan knob 8 tests positive on ‘push’ but not ‘rotate’.
Now for the clue as to the cause;
If I hold the control room knob, suddenly pan knob 8 tests positive on ‘rotate’.
This suggests a simple earthing/connectivity problem.
I do think these units are poorly made. I had the unit for two years before discovering a hardware fault was the cause of random disconnections.

Possibly the worst piece of gear I’ve ever invested in.
