Default Digital Video with the 001 suggestions?

Hey folks, I've been using the 001 for about three years now and I'm considering playing around with the world of digital video and DVD authoring... I've heard that the upgrade to 5.3.1 gave us the ability to run video with our PT le applications; does anyone have any particular editor that they are having measured success with?

Thanks in advance,
Sean

Sonic's Vegas Video Really rocks! The DVD authoring needs improvement, but the video editing is great. Ver 4 has some really fine tools for color correction which Adobe premier can't beat. It was a little slow on the draw compared to premire. But still a great product

I use ULead Stuff, Media Studio Pro, DVD Workshop, Photo Impact. Media Studio Pro 7.0 is out now with real time preview and DVD support. All are great and are competitive to Adobe Stuff. I think the Learning curve is a little easier than Premier. DVD Workshop is awesome. You can make Animated menus and add audio, just like the ones you buy, or rent.

Very cool... Thanks for the quick responses and the advice...

What do you suggest using if I have to get a coaxial video signal (for like transferring old home videos off of a VCR) into the computer? What types of I/O are out there that won't break the bank?

Thanks again...

Sean

Digital Camera Firewire is the best way. Hook up the VCR to the camera and let it convert to digital. If you don't have a digital camera then look at this http://www.canopus.com/US/products/a...m_advc-100.asp
But you will still need a fire wire card for the computer, $20.00 - 430.00 now days.
Here is another good place to start.
