Default Firewire/USB card recommendations

Hi gang.

I'm looking for recommendations for Firewire/USB cards for my G4 upgraded Beige Tower. I'm running a Bit 3 PCI expansion chassis(13 slot) with the following cards:

MIX Farm
D24
DSP Farm
DSP Farm
SCII+
SCII+
SCII+

In that order.

In the computer I'm running:

PCI Chassis Host
Empty
Adaptec 2940U2W.

I'd like to hear from people who are running a similar set-up succesfully with a Firewire/USB card. I'm also very curious about the Sonnet TempoTrio card which incorporates Firewire/USB and an ATA133 bus.

Thanks for any advice.

Default Re: Firewire/USB card recommendations

Guy,

My system is similar, but not entirely the same. Beige G3/300 (stock) with 7 slot chassis. I recently installed a Keyspan dual port USB card (no Firewire) and the only advice I can share with you is that it would not function in the chassis as advertised by various third party developers. I had bought it for the dreaded iLok requirement. So I removed the DC30+ card in my computer and placed the USB card there. Everything worked fine after that.

As to a previous post, I am running 9.1 and the thing rides as smoothly as a new Lexus. So if it ain't broke......

Hope this helps,

Yorik

Yorik,

Thanks. I have a free slot in my 'puter, so I'll put it there. I'm interested in being able to accomodate clients with firewire drives.
