Not with this little information, sorry.
1. http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=300050
2. Can you be specific about what's happening? "Not able to open" is a bit ambiguous.

Provide the necessary information, and the answers should flow like honey....

Again you have provided almost no useful information. Did you bother to read the link you were given in the previous post? Look up again on this page and read (again) this stuff at... "Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting!". We need a detailed/useful description of your system. If running Windows we need a Sandra report. And also please answer all of the following--

What exact version of Pro Tools are you installing? From physical media or download?

Was there a previous version of Pro Tools installed (did you uninstall that before installing the new full installer by using a the uninstaller with "clean" option?)

What exact installation instructions have you followed (web link or install documentation name?)? Did you do all the steps exactly as described?

If on Windows what errors show in the system event log when you try to run Pro Tools. If on a Mac what errors show on the System Console. If you don't know how to see these Google for that info.

I am running pro tools 10 along with an mbox mini on a windows 7 32 bit platform in an hp x8200 workstation 3.60 GHz proccessor. 4.00 GB of RAM. Peripherals: besides mbox mini: behringer ms16 monitor speakers, hp lv1911 display monitor. mBOX MINI CONNECTED TO USB ms16 monitor speakers connected to mbox mini. using all original equipment that came with each product. 3 ata harddrive: HDS725050KLA360, IBM-DTLA307075, ST31000520AS, all formats are NTFS all are being used for recording and playback. have done all the optimizations that can possibly be done as specified in the help us help you thread. I have uninstalled the pro tools 10 program using the control panel uninstall remove program feature and tried re installing pro tools 10 to no avail. so i uninstalled again then installed the Pro Tools 10.3.3 version from the www.avid.com/downloads web site. after what i think was a successful install and acquiring the necessary quick time program i am still not able to open the pro tools program. I have tried to troubleshoot compatibility using recommended windows xp sp2 and got an error message "only one copy of pro tools can run at a time". I have tried to right click on the pro tools 10 shortcut icon and select run as administrator still not seeing anything but the usual widows screen with shortcuts all over it. what is the problem can anyone help me out?? Default Re: pro tools 10 wont start up!!

I have done all the possible optimization as needed such as adjust power settings Run as Administrator
•Hard Disk Optimizations
•Install Latest Device Drivers (Pro Tools 9 and higher only)
•Adjust Processor Scheduling
•Disable Screen Saver

my computer model is HP x8200 workstation running windows 7 i have an mbox mini connected through usb just installed pro tools 10 the computer has at least 4GB of RAM the only peripherals attached to the computer is an HP LV1911 display monitor i have ms16 monitor speakers connected to the mbox mini all original cables connected to corresponding ports i have 3 hard drives installed all being used for recording and playback ST31000520AS, IBM-DTLA307075, HDS725050KLA360 all hard disk drives are ATA.

as for installation i just clicked setup and followed the installation wizard. when i first encountered the problem i thought i had done something wrong during installation so i went into the control panel and used the add remove programs option and uninstalled the pro tools 10 program then re run the setup to reinstall the pro tools 10 program and still the same outcome. this version of pro tools was installed via download.

Default Re: pro tools 10 wont start up!!

You have done *all* the optimizations or " all the possible optimization as needed"... what about antivirus software.

You are trying to start Pro Tools by double clicking on the Pro Tools icon (non a session?). Try double clicking on the Pro Tools icon under the Pro Tools application install folder (not whatever shortcut is on say your desktop).

You get no splash screen at all? (its not hidden behind another window - close every other app/window).

Uh I *really* don't like the look of that memory, even if this is not causing this problem. You've got unbalanced DIMMs, not even the same timing. Uh and you've really got ECC and non-ECC DIMMs in there? DRAM is relatively cheap, get the proper spec memory into that computer, all channels with identical DIMMs, a total of 4GB at least. That may mean throwing out all those DIMMS.

Not that it is relevant to this problem but I don't understand the comment "i have 3 hard drives installed all being used for recording and playback". The system drive should not be being used for audio/session files.

And again...

What *exact* version of Pro Tools are you installing? From physical media or download?

Was there a previous version of Pro Tools installed (did you uninstall that before installing the new full installer by using a the uninstaller with "clean" option?)

What exact installation instructions have you followed (web link or install documentation name?)? Did you do all the steps exactly as described?

If on Windows what errors show in the system event log when you try to run Pro Tools. If you don't know how to see these Google for that info. (Paste the windows event log from when you try to start Pro Tools here if you are not sure).

Default Re: pro tools 10 wont start up!!

dont need to use anti virus this is a new system.

i tried to start the pro tools program double clicking the shortcut icon and in the start menu. i also right clicked on both the shortcut icon and in the start menu and chose the run as administrator.

i receieved one error message it stated only one copy of pro tools can be running at a time.

the problem with that is the screen never changed the same windows screen remained with all the shortcuts on it.

pro tools 10.0.0 is the version i have installed there werent any specific instructions just double click the setup icon and the wizard walks you through all the rest this is a fresh install except when i tried to reinstall.

i receieved one error message it stated only one copy of pro tools can be running at a time.

the problem with that is the screen never changed the same windows screen remained with all the shortcuts on it.

pro tools 10.0.0 is the version i have installed there werent any specific instructions just double click the setup icon and the wizard walks you through all the rest this is a fresh install except when i tried to reinstall.
No specific instructions? What the Pro Tools installation guide does not count?

10.0.0 Ugh, oh God. Deciding the next step is easy. Whether it will the problem is anybody's guess.

Go download the latest full installer of Pro Tools, currently 10.3.3. at .

Before doing anything read the PDF install documentation for this, follow the instructions there exactly -- including the device driver install steps etc.

before the 10.3.3 install you should run the Pro Tools uninstaller with "clean" option to remove all the crap currently on your computer (this will remove all your plugins, which if you had any third party ones is likely a good thing--reinstall the current/latest versions of those plugins later, but only after you see if the current issue you are complaining about are fixed with a base Pro Tools install).

If you have a problem with this after that install come back and answer *all* the other questions I have asked before in one concise message.
