when will the IE8 and DEP issues be resolved?
I asked before if Digi was ever going to fix this. Didn't get an answer. It's almost the one year anniversary of this issue.
Am I missing something, or does this bug mean that if you go to the store today, buy a computer, and install Pro-Tools that Pro Tools will always crash on launch? My thinking is that every new windows machine comes with IE8 pre-installed, yes? I still don't understands how Digi could let this problem go for an entire year without fixing it.

This was fixed in 8.0.3 - the Release Notes details what has changed:

Umm...
1) I looked at the release notes, I don't see this mentioned. 2) Your sticky "read this first, read this, IE8 dont work" notice at the top of the forum still says the problem exists. If you actually fixed it, maybe you should update the permanent alert at the top of the forum? 3) I have version 7. What is the fix for version 7 users? Thanks for your reply

My mistake - it's in the Read Me, not the Release notes.
Also my mistake about which VI's were fixed - only the ones in the Creative Collection (bundled with Pro Tools) have the fix. Other AIR VI's like Structure, Hybrid, Velvet and Strike are still waiting to be updated - my notes on this had an incorrect date for the fix to be rolled out, so my apologies for that. Version 7 users will get the same fix once the plug-ins are updated. I'll update the info in our stickies as soon as I can. I'm currently engrossed in working on getting as many fixes into the next update as possible, which is sucking up a lot of my time.
