Default Tracks out of sync with eachother

I am not sure what I am doing wrong here - this is not a new problem but it happens more and more frequently. Usually it will be only one of the tracks. The others will play in sync but one track will be completely out of sync. It is very disturbing

I can usually fix it if I restart the computer. Simply quitting ProTools and restarting does not always work. It is annoying because you can't open a new session before doing a restart. I know I should upgrade everything - but I have no dinero and my little system has worked great until recently. Also: I heard that you must keep the Airport off - but that doesn't make in a difference in my case.

Does anyone have any ideas? - are there any plug-ins I should not be using - or any other conflicts... Thanks for any and all advice!

I have a 2010 MacBook Pro 2.4 GHZ 8Gb Ram OSX 10.6.8 Pro Tools 9.0.5

Is delay compensation turned on?

From what I remember ProTools nine delay compensation worked beautifully

This has nothing to do with Delay Compensation - the tracks are out of sync with each other in at least 2 or three bars
