Default How much better does HD need to be?

Seriously.

You really need more than 192 tracks to make your point?

Please complete this sentence: "If I only had 2000 tracks I could....."

Offline bounce would be nice, and rock solid VI's, but beyond that, what do we really need?

Cheaper control surfaces.
Speedier start-up.
Automated file backup (not just the session doc)
Much larger undo buffer. 32 is too few.
Rock solid delay compensation.
Record enabled midi tracks always in record.
Automated import from other DAWs.
Freeze tracks? This is getting silly.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Best...H

Offline bounce would be nice, and rock solid VI's, +1 The Logic all tracks to Audio
Cheaper control surfaces. (3K 24 fader Mute Solo Select, 1 encoder, Meters and 7.1 Monitor) option.
hybrid c/24 meets Mix/control

Freeze tracks? covered by offline bounce

Import whatever I want, route whatever I want and never ever again have to even think about voice allocation or track counts .... Awesome

- offline bounce (just for quick previews, hardware inserts should be auto-bypassed)
- doubled or free voices
- auto input and record-mute when bouncing (or a dedicated option in the preferences to choose)
- hardware-insert quick-bypass/mute option
- more inputs and sends
- level-meters beeing expandable up to the whole channel-height
- a phase button
- full cpu support

- Save/Recall Channels
- More voices (due to the whole RTAS/TDM/RTAS channel thing
- RTAS plugs that don't crash!!! TDM is stable why can we have stable RTAS?

More voices, mainly for mixing RTAS and TDM plugins without having to think about it.

Longer if not unlimited ADC, especially for Aux tracks where RTAS plugins often can't be used.

Bounce.

Updated control surfaces, I myself would like an updated Command 8

Polarity Reverse and Gain Trim options on the mixer, they appear on even budget consoles so it does annoy me when I have to open a plugin for such basic functionality.

Apart from that I can't really think of anything else! I love Pro Tools HD, the best and most stable system I have ever used without doubt.
