Default Audio File Recovery (aif)

I lost stage power to my external drive while multitracking a show live to a 002R. The audio files printed to the drive and now have a quicktime icon and aif extrension. Unfortunately, these "aif" files are unreadable by ProTools.

Does ANYONE know ANY WAY to make these files readable by PT? I'm up for anything... conversions, analog outs, whatever...

Thanks

Soundhack may be able to recover those files, or at least play back the majority of the file for recapture on another device...

Do you know if this software would help on Windows XP? Someone recently erased my user profile and I had a bunch of Files and Folders of Projects sitting on my desktop. Could this possible recover these?

I had a similar problem and believe it or not Norton's UnErase saved the day...after re-building the directory with Disk Warrior (a must have) I tried to recover audio with TechToolPro (great for general maintenance) but the files were unreadable by ProTools & Quicktime...as a last resort I tried Nortons UnErase and most of the files were recovered and playable in addition to the session files which I could now open...hope this helps a little
