Mine worked on this end, as well..... but it took me 15 minutes to locate the "Join the ACA" link.

Save yourself some time and use the above link :)

Good news on open-eared iPad development!

Default Avid Announce Free Pro Tools Control App For iPad

This looks interesting. I wonder if it can replace the Artist Control all together.

not bad - I asked for this 3 years ago

not a bad turn around on a feature/product request.

How well does the Protools Control app work on the iPad mini?

I have to buy a new iPad this weekend and I would rather get the smaller iPad mini over the Air. The Mini works exceptionally well with the Yamaha Stage Mix app (which is the other killer app that I use my iPad for). And I would rather save the $300 that upgrading to the Air would cost.

But I don't want to be hosed with the smaller screen and Protools Control. This is going to be a killer app for me and it may be the tipping point to get me to upgrade to Protools 12. So I really need to know how well it's going to work on the Mini, please.

Okay,

plug in control is paramount in my opinion.
Make sure that we have direct control over the GUI, preferably multi touch.

I for one am not a fan at all of generic controller buttons that you need to map plugins on. I've always viewed this as the Achilles heel of DAW controllers and don't see any need to resort to that when you're using a screen as a control surface. Perhaps, since iOS IS multi touch ready, it'll be easier to implement multi touch plugin control than it is for Slate to bring it to the Raven...

Go for it. I'll have you know that, since the MTi was released I haven't been seriously considering ANY of your controllers. Sure, the MTi is not perfect, but I don't think there's anything out there that can touch it bang for buck.
I'll raise you and say that, would the S3 be the same price of an MTi, I'd probably still opt for the latter. Why? Intuitive plugin control is WAY bigger for me than physical faders.

I'm not saying this is everyone's reality but it is mine, and even though I can understand that some cling on to physical faders, I'm over them, certainly in the DAW realm.

So yeah, go for it Avid, We love Pro Tools, now let us touch it.

Since this app is based on Eucon, I don't think it will be capable of a 1:1 interactive plug-in GUI. I'm sure they will have a GUI of sorts that has the eucon-enabled controls, but I doubt it will be like having an additional display just for touch control.

Well what's keeping them from mixing and matching technologies?

I mean, what with it being 2015 and all.
Plus, if you look at the S6 there's wavefrom displays in the meterbridge, so there's obviously SOME graphic support. Unless that's just a condensed volume x time curve.

Regardless, they own Eucon, so they can perfect it any way they want no?

I really don't want to be hearing any excuses like 'no we can't implement that obvious feature because this particular protocol doesn't support it'. Not in this day and age!

Work it, fix it, make it rock. It's 2015.
Don't settle for neat, make it awesome.

I'm not trying to bash Avid at all, I think this is the kind of mindset they need and I feel like they are and have been getting into that mindset and I'm here to cheer them on.

eat or be eaten, buy Slate before Slate can buy you.
Have some guts and go for awesome.
Thanks!

If you use V-Control in conjunction with a Eucon controller, you lose metering on the V-Control, as the Artist series can do multichannel metering in the scribble strips whereas HUI (and Diginet) can only support up to Stereo metering.
