003 life cycle

I purchased the Mbox pro 3 but the shipment has been delayed by Avid due to a power issue. (That is according to AMS) I am thinking about just getting a 003 system but I am not sure what the life cycle is on that system. Is there any major differences between the Mbox pro 3 besides inputs etc.? Will there be a 004 soon?

Chances are avid will release a 003 replacement with no pro tools included and likely to support 30 or 32 io.

Dont be surprised if avid decides tp make this a light peak interface to support apples investment. This could mean much lower latency on a nom hd rig. With all tje firewire imterfaces an pro tools being open now i dont see them releasinh more firewire interfaces.

Also a 003 does not support smux so at 96khz you get the same io on both rigs. Also the mbox 3 has the limiters to help avoid peaking. The mbox 3 pro is a nicr choice.

Wait for 004 if you want something that works. Its the Avid way. Legacy users are pathetic leeches.
