Default presonus firepod

does anyone know if the presonus firepod 8 channel interface can be used with pro tools m-powered 7.4 and/or can the firepod be used for anything more than just an interface for pro tools le? for example instead of an m-box or an 002/003? thanks in advance for any info.

The Firepod can't be used as an audio interface for either product.

Pro Tools M-Powered requires M-Audio hardware.
Pro Tools LE requires Digidesign hardware.

Is there anyway to connect the Presonus Firepod to the Digidesign 003?

If the Presonus has lightpipe you can use it to access the "ADAT" i/o on your 003.

What would be a good interface with lightpipe to use with the 003 that is at a decent price?

The Digimax D8 is a little more expensive, but if you bargain hunt, you can find one for around $400. Sounds far better than most of the other non-Presonus units in the same price range.
