Default "WIN7" is not an audio playback volume.

Guys, I'm new to PT, but I just installed LE 8 and all the updates, so now I have LE 8.0.3 version with the 64 Bit driver. At any rate, when I start a session I get the message in the title.

"WIN7" is not an audio playback volume.

Also I get this message as well,

"This session is saved on a volume set to Transfer only.
If permitted, set the volume in question to P or R in the workspace."
blah blah blah.

Is it hopeless, should I just install XP on my new PC?

System Details
ASUS - 2010
Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel R Core i5 64 Bit
8GB Installed Ram
Terabyte HD

OK, I went to the workspace and put the choices on P, I get sound now, but I need to know how to assign the DATA, WIN7, and the PT selections. Thanks in Advance.

P is Playback, R is record and T is transfer.

IF you are attempting to record to/playback from your SYSTEM drive, you WILL run into problems. Where's your dedicated audio drive???

the Data which I'm guessing u means "the files" go with wherever u appoint to session to start on as in the drive u begin recording to..

Stop sayin WIN7, because that is jus a name that u named ur drive...SW asked, "WHERE IS UR DEDICATED AUDIO DRIVE"? Well SW its WIN7

U really shouldn't be recording to that drive because obviously if u named it that, then that probably means that is ur OS drive so that shouldn't really even be in the equation to be honest...

PT selections???
