Shortcut for Markers?

Sorry guys - I checked with the search function but it looks like this hasn't been brought up yet...

Is there anyway to tap on the keyboard (on macs it just enter with the marker window opened) a marker while listening to my region / audio - Instead of clicking on the marker icon - Just a tap of a key would save me so much time...

to create markers just hit the enter key on the numberpad...easy to reach and hard to miss. To recall a marker/jump to a marker, it's dot then the marker number then dot again on the number pad.

Which is exactly the same on the Mac.

its the same, its actually the "RETURN" key. while your listening just press the key and the marker window will come up.

Yikes - I have a laptop where there isn't a number key / enter - What to do???

We're talking computers, not type-writers. Carriage return is considered the same button as enter on computers these days...different keyboard manufacturers put different names on the key...mine has enter in all the places...the one at work has return...go figure.

Use the Fn key which activates the alternate keystroke... for instance on my PowerBook, it's Fn + Return... or buy a portable numeric keypad for your laptop ( For example).
