Second HD Native card w/o extra license

Hi,

I have a HD native system running on a MBP via magma express one.

Now I bought a Mac pro and I want to stick the card in that.
But 10-30% of my time, I want to be recording on location, with the MBP.

This means:

1. connecting the magma to the macpro: magma makes an annoying sound even after the thermistor mod

2. swapping the card every time.

None of these options appeal to me so I wonder if there's a possibility to buy a second card without the extra charge for an additional PT10 license I don't need.

The only way would be to buy a Native card used. I have seen plenty on Ebay that come without a license, and seem to be priced accordingly.

Any way that you buy one brand new, it's going to come with the Protools license. On top of that, they don't even sell them separately anymore, but only as part of a bundle with an interface. Unless you do the trade in from an old Core card, but that's still going to come with the Protools license, and it's $1995.

Then again, the mix card - HD Native trade in I did, was even cheaper than that...
Wish THAT was still around!

Yeah, they ran $1595 special for almost a year, then took it away for a little bit, then brought it back at a higher price.
