Importing OMF from Cakewalk Sonar
Has anyone been successful importing OMF's other that those from an Avid? I have a Mix+, 5.1.3 on Unity and have no problems opening OMF's from a Symphony or Media Composer. I'm trying to import one from Cakewalk Sonar XL 2.0 and am having difficulties. One of two things happens:
An OMF with external media gives me the familar, "Where is file ???", that from an Avid means the media was offline when the OMF was made. The person that gave me the file said that when Sonar made the OMF, it copied the needed files to a new folder for export, implying it "knows" the names of the files. An embedded OMF gives me "filename.omf has the wrong number of channels". This may be due to Sonar exporting stereo tracks. The "Exporter" said he was able to create/select mono tracks for the external media version but not for the embedded one. Thanks |
