Midi notes grayed out with DM5

Help, I just started recording drum tracks with an Alesis DM5 and triggers in PTLE, unfortunately I'm not able to edit notes in edit notes, they appear gray with a cross through them. I can't select, move or extend them. Anyone knows about this?

Close Protools LE.

Open OMS.

Create a new studio setup, let it auto detect all you're devices.

Make the new OMS setup current while still in OMS.

Quit OMS.

Launch protools.

this should make sure protools can find the device and it's patch name document, assuming you've got one in the OMS folder for that drum machine.

this should solve the problem, if it doesn't try creating a new session in protools and import all the midi tracks from the old one so you've got all notes and you just need to re-select the patches for each midi track.

hope this helps, it's happened to me before and it's quite annoying. I'll be glad to see the back of OMS when we get an OS X version Protools LE.
