Default Fast Track Ultra Blue Screen Crashes

On my Windows 7 Pro sp1, M-Audio Fast Track Ultra (Driver: 6.1.8, Firmware: 1.5.1), SONAR X3, the FTU driver keeps crashing my system. Happens around 3 times in a day. Joy killer.

Blue screen, IRQ issues, M-Audio, memory dump...hard to read the screen quickly enough.

I guess the obvious is try the 6.1.10 driver, but have seen similar issues from people with that. Better to time travel back to 6.1.08?

Grateful for suggestions...

Default Re: Fast Track Ultra Blue Screen Crashes

Brief Update:

1. Installed M-Audio Fast Track Ultra driver 6.1.10 (latest version) but the Blue Screen keeps coming.

2. Uninstalled the driver and tried an older driver,6.1.08, but while that one loads into my taskbar tray, the actual window doesn't open on my screen, rendering it useless as I can't adjust anything, including monitoring.

3. Reinstalled the latest driver, 6.1.10.

4. Now generating a full system profile via Sandra Lite.

Hi there, I did manage to make the blue screens disappear completely: switched to other brand. After months trying to find a fix that was the only solution I could find. I know this is not of much help but maybe it makes you skip to what I believe will be the end of the story.

Oh, I DO hear that loud and clear. Spent last night looking over my options and if this doesn't resolve quickly, will get a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8.

Was your device the Fast Track Ultra?

I got the Scarlett 6i6. You might want to take a look at this and some similar threads before jumping. (I did and decided to go on anyways, Scarletts are awesome for the price)

I yield to the Blue Screen gods. Just before hitting the save button (immediately after a take) it happened for the 2nd time today. I'm done.

Called my GC Pro buddy, picking up the Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 today.

And thanks, Amagras for the thread on the driver problems. Doesn't "appear" to be an issue with Sonar, so I'm just going to d(r)ive in.

Heh, heh...Fast Track Ultra in mint condition for sale. :)

Just one more thing. Did you tried installing the last version of the Fast Track driver that worked fine? It worked for me at least on W8 when I rolled back to the previous version of the driver

Yes, all the drivers are exhibiting problematic behavior. The two newest iterations both cause the blue screens, and the one prior, that used to work well for me on XP, makes its way to my task bar after install, but the window won't open at all, so I can't access the settings.

It's okay. It will work for someone else on their system. I'll release it and start with the Focusrite tonight. Thanks for your reflections on this. It helped me move forward without spending the next week trying to figure out which of the 3 trillion variables in my PC are causing the problem.
