Fast Track Ultra Bit Depth
Hi guys!
I was looking to get help with a problem I have. I've looked for solutions on the internet, and it appears, that this problem is common not only for Fast Track Ultra or M-audio interfaces, but many others too. So here's the deal. I am using a Fast Track Ultra with the latest drivers and control panel installed. I am trying to play a game called Rocksmith 2014 using my interface as the audio output device. Rocksmith is very picky when it comes to audio device settings. In particular, it only works if your soundcard's output is set to 48000/16bit. Setting it to 48000 is not a problem - you can do it through the control panel. But 16 bit depth is a real problem - there is no way to choose. This is probably because when you use it for professional purposes you set then bit depth through the DAW or whatever you are using. When I change the settings through the windows playback device control panel it does offer the option i am looking for, but after any sound is played through the interface, the settings changes back to 24-bit. The sample rate snaps back to the one, that is set in the settings too. This leads me to the conclusion, that Fast Track Ultra is forcing the settings. As I said, there's no problem with the sample rate, but I have no Idea how to change the Bit Depth setting. Can anyone help with this? |
