help hooking up a sub
I will be buying a sub tomorrow. I have the events 20/20 passive monitors with a ra 100 amp. how would i hook up a sub to these since the l and r are being used. also using a mackie 1402 board.

Since it is already tomorrow, you have probably figured it out. Hopefully, you bought a subwoofer similar to a Tannoy PS110b. If you did, just run the R&L monitor outputs from the digi to the inputs on the sub, then the outputs on the sub to you amp. Greg

Another way to do it is to use a "Y" to come out of one of the Mackie Aux Sends and run that into the sub L-R inputs.
You may then use each channel strip's individual aux send pots to control how much signal you're sending to the sub. You may also easily 'dial out' the sub with the Master Aux pot, and so use only your main monitors for editing or comparison. Very slick and versitile that way. |
