K12 not working in PT

I have just acquired Komplete 12 upgrade (hardrive) and the Komplete Kontrol plugin within PT doesn't show up and when I open the FM8 or Absyn plugin within an instrument track no sounds appear.

Any advice please.

You did install the stuff on the drive to your system right?
I don't think KK is supposed to work the way you're thinking; you first open KK and THEN select what you want. If you already have Absynth open why not just select your sound from within the instrument itself? Like FM8 it already has a way to select patches according to certain criteria.
Personally I never use KK.

I was under the impression that Komplete Kontrol was for NI hardware mapping, esp for live use of NI synths with supported controllers.

Not necessarily. KK is their way of searching for sounds and doesn't need h/w controllers. A database control/search engine.

And as of this morning, it now works with 3rd party controllers.

Yes I have followed proper install procedure. KK and PT worked fine together before and KK popped up as an instrument plugin.....but since jumping the K12.....nada....

Although, I did play around with FM8, absyn etc and they all work fine as an instrument plugin.... jut no KK

Do this: completely uninstall Komplete Kontrol. Then using NI Native Access reinstall KK. When done with that run Komplete Kontrol in standalone and let it do it's scanning which will take a while. When that's done just to see that things are working try selecting an instrument in KK. When that works quit KK. Open PT, create an instrument track, and for an insert go to the Native Instruments entry and Komplete Kontrol should be there.

Good to hear.
It's pretty much standard procedure with NI vi's to open each one in standalone before using it in your daw. Not mentioned anywheres on NI's site but more so in the music community.
