Default Did I blow the FireWire on my 003 Rack?

I'm trying to determine whether I have damaged the firewire ports on my 003 rack. I'm using ProTools 8 but the software can't locate the hardware.
I can see the 003 in device manager though. Does this mean the firewire ports on my computer & 003 are ok? Any help that you can give is greatly appreciated. Thanks

More troubleshooting will help. Is there another 003 or 002 rack user in your area? If so, test your unit on their rig. Otherwise, try a new firewire cable(they do fail0 and maybe uninstall and re-install Pro Tools. If you ever connected or disconnected the firewire with everything powered ON, there is a decent chance you cooked it(something many of us have done, either by accident, or by ignorance). The repair is about the same cost as a used 003R(between $300 and $400). But you do want to make sure before you send for repair(no sense wasting that kind of money).

did you just upgrade from pro tools something to Pro tools 10? you will need to install new drivers if so.

and you will need to pick the 003 as the aggregate device.

If you did not just upgrade, then disregard my entire post.

Thanks so much for your help. The problem was in fact some kind of driver issue. Once I got it sorted out everything works good. Whew!
Thanks again
