Default URS Comps OR Hardware Comps?

URS Comps OR Hardware Comps?

O.K. what's your opinion - Can the URS Comps hold up to some of the hardware comps they emulate?

And

1.Can anyone tell me what Hardware comps the URS comps are supposed to emulate?

2.What are some of the things you have tried the URS Comps on and what settings did you use?

3.If you had enough money to buy the URS Comps or 1 good Hardware comp in the same or close to same price range what would you buy?

The reason I ask is my demo ran out and I'm trying to decide what to buy.

Thanks for your time and input.

KC

Hi,

Yes, i agree with the above poster, that hardware is still king! but not all hardware? we are talking quality hi-end hardware!! The URS compresors are very very good and are the closest i have found to my hardware tube-tech cl1b valve compressor. but you can't practically have 30 hardware compressors!? but you can have 30 URS!

I beleive you need at least one fat creamy hardware valve compressor for tracking vocals, guitars, bass etc and i personally use mine on mixdown for bass.

I tried the URS on most everything and couldn't really fault them! so i would recommend them to nanyone wanting some great sounding plugins, but i would also recommend the purchase of one high quality hardware compressor.

don't forget the native versions are half price and from PT7 onwards all native can be used on all tracks/aux's and masters.
