Default PT 2018 - Low Latency Monitoring issue: mutes signal

Hi - when I turn on LLM, the signal (vocal in this case) is muted. How do I monitor the vocal recording? Never experienced this in previous versions of PT.

Thanks!

This is precisely the point of low latency monitor mode with third party interfaces. Perhaps you’ve used low latency monitor mode with an avid interface previously?

With ProTools software the point is to mute the audio in the application so that you can utilize direct monitoring. With ProTools HD rugs the point of low latency monitor mode is to pass the signal through the card directly to create the lowest latency path possible. For example on an HD native rig.

With an HDX rig of course this is not necessary because you are always in low latency monitor mode so to speak since the DSP exists on the card and the plug-ins run on the card.

Hopefully this helps

I'm using a UAD Apollo 8 (and UAD Console). I can't work out how to hear the vocal while I'm recording in LLM mode!

Unmute the channel in Console or choose the correct source for the headphones in Console.
