Default DAE memory is low error when bouncing

Alright, I'm running Pro Tools LE 5.1.1 on a Powermac g4 1500mhz, 512mg ram, MacOS 9.2.2. Whenever I try to bounce to disk certain sessions in which I have used a lot of plugins, I get the error "DAE memory is low" This does not stop the bounce, it does continue to play and creates a stereo file, although the file it creates seems to be empty (no audio, can't burn it in toast) I thought this may have been an issue with not having enough RAM, since I only had 256mg, so I upgraded to 512mg- same problem. I also upgraded my cpu from the factory 450mhz to 1500mhz, since I was also recieving "You're running out of cpu power" errors. This fixed the cpu power error (of course) but still can't bounce half of my sessions because of this memory error. Adding twice as much RAM didn't fix it, so I figure it must be something software related. Someone help me out please, this is driving me insane. Thanx.

Default Re: DAE memory is low error when bouncing

hi try this

run your PT session the select "about this mac" from teh finder menu (the apple)
there you should the memory usage of the DAE.

if the bar is all full
go yourstartupdisk>system folder> DAE folder>DAE. Select it and press apple+i / Information from the Finder menu and assign more memory to DAE. try something around 10MB.
And be SURE to have virtual memory turned OFF.

this might help

For OS9, 512MB system RAM are usually enough.

best.
