Default loop crash still there in cs3
the infamous loop crash is still there, had it in the last hour 3 times

a session without vi´s, only audio tracks, only compatible plugs installed, project auto-backup and dsp-cache deactivated...

Download this app and run it for a minute or 2 until it says "do you want to close this window" after that there will be a text file with all your plugins listed. copy and paste the list here...

..same here.. AND
cs3 is crashing when trying to open/ re-open sessions. When opening the first session after restarting the computer, everything is fine. After closing and opening a new session or reopening the same one, the PT crashes. So I have to restart again. I had the same issue in cs2 from time to time, but cs3 is crashing more often and I always have to restart the computer.
Today, when recording and changing playlists, I had some crashes too.
This never happened in cs2.

For some reason cs3 seems to be not so stable as cs2...

Any ideas?

Hi. I'm finding cs3 very stable (PPC G5 DP 2.7).
I notices you have DP6. Do you use or have you installed the MOTU universal driver?
(1.4.21)
I ask because the newest one for my system crashes pro tools. I use version 1.4.9
and am very stable.
(Note: I use this for a MOTU 896 I/O (Core Audio)

Editing on the fly, fades, VI's Melodyne no crashes since cs3.
In cs2 I would usually have had a few FW call back or midi server crashes by now.

My track counts are generally 50-90 audio voices.
VI's up to 4 generally before I print for performance.

OS 10.5.7, PT's 8cs3, PPC DP 2.7 6Gb Ram.
External FW audio drives, Internal SATA drives for Sample libs and SFX

no - I don´t have installed the Motu driver

I only use DP5 in Tiger in DAE mode, under Leopard I use DP6 only in midi mode, since DAE mode doesn´t work with PT8

I get the looping error. PT doesn´t crash, but gives me some BS about running out of cpu power. (9128)

Freshly installed 8.0 CS3 on a new Mac. (See my sig)

I loose connection with the midi-interface (Motu fastlane) sometimes when it happens.

How many RTAS processors are selected? its recommend to set it to an ODD amount 1/3/5/7 etc

What's your hardware buffer set to? too low a setting will cause CPU overload.

Whats the CPU usage limit set to? mines at 90% WITH 7 RTAS processors.

Is Altiverb RTAS? thats quite CPU hungry, and the CPU meter doesn't always give an exact reading, sometimes the meter will jump up and down with certain CPU hogs like Altiverb, Waves L316, PSP Neon HR etc. i get this occasionally with the meter, but haven't experienced the looping problem.
