Default AVID MOJO no second frame if you play AVI Movies

Hallo
this is for all users, who wanted to play a DV AVI Movie with PT 7.2 and a Mojo.
There is a big big bug. The Mojo plays only the upper Frame. So you have only the half resolution.
The picture is not good.
This is not a professionel solution.

Some might say the same about AVI video.

I thought, and I just checked to verify, that Mojo compatibility doesn't mention anything about AVI video.

Convert that AVI video to a supported Avid or Quicktime format and you'll be good. Both Avid and Quicktime formats will work on Mac or PC based systems.

Hope this helps,

DV25 and H.264 are the only 'officially tested and supported' codecs. Others may work, but it can be hit or miss.

We do a lot of tests, with a lot of files. The only movie that works, is when you capture with the Mojo in Avid file format. But we get ouer pictures from USA via Smartjog, and this pictures are Quicktime jpegA Movies. And with this Movies, there is also the same result. And when we convert it to Quicktime DV25, it is the same. That meens that it no matter if it is a PC AVI DV25 format ore the same in Quicktime format.
It looks like, that Digidesign support the AVID format down to the ground and a little the other formats.
Maybe there is a trick, but we did not find him yet.

Hi Digi,
Just so you know, I'm on XP. I have a fully qualified dual dual xw9300 hd3 accel running 7.2cs2. H264 totally kills stability on XP. Access Violation every hour. Suavely bad stability. So, it;s not usable. DV25 looks horrible on XP. Very low resolution. Play the movie with stand alone QT and it looks very high res. Open in up in PT and it looks very pixelated. I mean, I can't really tell sync from big blocks moving around the mouth of actors bad. 15 to 1 video looks better then DV25. So basically, no qt Solution? It doesn't even work?

I don't really mind this because I convert all the video I can into Avid DV25 which looks very high res, but I did buy the mojo to play QT on an external monitor. Sometimes I don't have time to do this and the avid is being used for something else. So, I have to use QT. None of these solutions work. BTW, this stuff was tested?? How can that be? These are very obvious problems.

Anyway if I missed something, please let me know.
Thanks,
Brandon

HAllo

so i see that this is a major problem, and my company needs a solution.
As we hear of PT 7.2 and Avid Mojo, we were very confident that our problems
getting to an end.
But now, i think Digidesign is not realy interested to bring a good video solution om the market.
When the Avid DV 25 format ( that is a oneway street )the only way is to have a good picture, than we have to give our five Mojos back to the dealer.

I think Digidesign has to do a little rework.

Peace

Andi

Brandon and lode - are you using the Mojo? It wasn't clear from your post if you were or not.
