Default Session locked in NTSC format

I have been working on a dvd project over the past few weeks in 7.2cs2 and have noticed my sessions have been locked in 'NTSC' format in the Session setup... I am in Australia so everything we do is PAL.

I was reading through the manual which says that the video format of any video files in the session determines the session format. I have one (or at times several) PAL format videos in the sessions, but my session setup still says NTSC, and i can't change it.

Is this a bug or am i missing something?

Try removing all the video from the session and then changing it to pal. Then re-import the video back into the session.
I have found that wether Pal or NTSC, any video present in a session locks the switch in session setup.

I have found the same thing. Regardless of what format the video file is, the session set up will lock, and not necessarily at the rate the video is running at! The only way to change it is to delete (and do a shift apple u, shift apple b) the video tracks and media from the session, change the video format then re import the video media.

Yeah, since they broke it with PT7! Also, the video used to open in "blocks" view (after it was changed to frames view in some prior version and widespread public outcry caused them to change it back...) It's like they don't keep notes on what works.

C'mon Digi, if it ain't broke, quit messing it up!

Just for the info of people finding this by search... The *ONLY* way i could find to fix this problem was to create a NEW session, and make sure it is set to PAL before importing the video... then import ALL session data from original session.

There was *NO* way to change the PAL/NTSC format, even after deleting all videos from the session.

strange coincidence - I had this exact thing happen to me yesterday. Despite deleting the video files and media the session stayed locked. The only difference was that the session had to re-link to the video media as it was loading.... it worked fine on four out of five sessions, but one session was jammed on NTSC whatever we tried!

After some serious faffing about, we discovered that if you import another movie into the session, then go through the whole process again, it seems to work.

Digi, can you sort this out please?
