Default Reference Tracks - ADPTR MetricAB / Magic AB 2 / or Other

Hey, just curious how you guys compare reference tracks to what's being mixed. I watched a cool video recently by the people behind MetricAB.. and the plugin looks aces. Unfortunately it's somewhat out of my price range. I was hoping for a Black Friday sale, but no dice on that.

I also notice Magic AB. That one's WAY cheaper, but it doesn't get the amazing reviews like Metric.

I'm waiting until I'm finished recording my demos to download the trials. Until then, I’d love to hear what you guys think of these. And also if I missed one that any of you prefer over Metric and Magic.

Thanks.

Izotope Ozone has a handy feature to add reference tracks. Check their website as they are having a sale. And also check to see if that feature is part of the "essentials" version as I think that is really cheap on sale If you self-master, Ozone is a powerful tool

just don't switch studios
as it's a super PITA to re link trax...

I don't need all those analytics, so if I'm shuttling back and forth,
I just import the audio, bypass my mix bus,
And use X – OR solo

...also MTM and sample AB have been running holiday promos (25-50% off)
and PIA almost certainly will add Metric to their "12 days" sale.

Thanks for all the suggestions; I didn't realize there were so many reference plugs. Can't wait to try em all out.

Nugen AB assist is another.

Weren’t they giving that away for free for PT users a while back? Pretty sure it’s still in my AVID account.

Its still free. Def gonna check it out.

Is the MetricAB plug considered to be at the top of this apparent long list of AB plugs? Or was I just taken in by their slick preview video?

Thanks.
Metric AB is one of the most comprehensive plugins of its type around. But I agree, it is pricey indeed. With any luck it may yet go on sale before Christmas.

Keep your eye out for it.
