Re: 9073 error
Would the Samsung hard drive be compatible with my DDR2 ram? Will it work with my existing C drive?

Re: 9073 error
It is an SSD (solid state drive) not a hard drive.
It has nothing to do/no compatibility issues with RAM It has noting to do/no compatibility with other drives connected to the system. You just need a fee SATA connection on the motherboard to start with, which you will likely do by unplugging your current audio drive and connecting the SSD. |

Re: 9073 error
I have tried everything suggested and still the problem persists. So, plan B is:
Upgrade operating system to Windows 7, 64 bit - add ram for a total of 8mb - optimize windows 7 as per avid - upgrade to PT 10, 64 bit - re-install plug-ins - run the session to see if it works - upgrade F drive to a Seagate Evo SSD - hope I have something positive to post. Thanks for the help |

Re: 9073 error
"Adding" ram to your existing ram can be tricky, even if the specifications are the same (speed, timings, etc.) It may or may not "play nice" together. That being said, I don't know if you could even find 8GB of new DDR2 ram, so adding ram may be worth a try.

Re: 9073 error
My 2 cents; don't change much on this machine and don't do Win7/PT10 on it(because its simply too old). If you have no budget, do your best to keep it going as it sits(but a "YES" to swapping in an SSD for a system drive, but make sure the old motherboard has SATA ports).
Start saving up towards a new(er) computer that will be worth the updates(which leaves the old beast intact, so you can work until the new system is up and running). Based on recent comments, it appears the 002 is still a working interface, even on the current PT release. And, you really want to move up to Windows 10(x64) and PT 11 on the new machine(because Windows 10 is faster than 7 and PT11 is a 64 bit program. This will allow you to use more RAM and the performance boost should be pretty staggering after what you are used to). On a budget? A used combo with an x79 motherboard, i7 6-core and 32GB of RAM can often be had for well under a grand and makes for a darn fine PT rig

Re: 9073 error
Thanks for the input. I thought that I would upgrade from XP to Windows 7 because there is not much support for XP (back up drives, software, etc). I know PT10 is still 32 bit, but it will run on a 64 bit machine if I am not mistaken and along with the new SSD drive I am hoping this gets rid of the 9073 error and I can get on with life. I can not justify spending on a new/used machine at the moment.

Re: 9073 error
Installed new Samsung Evo SSD, opened problem session - no 9073 error on playback / editing so far.
