We (Signum Audio, based in Edinburgh, Scotland) have just released our first plugin - the Bute Loudness Analyser.

Bute comes with a customisable warning system, resizable window, DAW synchronisation, re-metering of edits to update integrated loudness and loudness range, Meter history that can be navigated and zoomed in/out, and a multitude of meter ballistics.

Bute supports a wide range of presets - and we intend to keep updating the list. Currently, Bute offers the following presets...

Traditional: Compatible with all revisions of ITU-R BS.1770 and fully supporting (including deprecated versions) EBU R-128, ATSC A/85, OP-59, ARIB TR-B32, AGCOM 219/09/CSP
Digital: Netflix, Spotify, Youtube, Apple Check, Hulu and TIDAL.

We will continually update Bute with new features and presets.

We would like to hear people's feedback and suggestions for updates!

It is smooth as butter - very refined and simple interface
Will there be an audiosuite version for Pro Tools as well (or maybe I am just looking in the wrong drawer?)

We are rolling out a number of features today with the release of Bute Loudness Analyser 1.2.0.

There are a couple of new features and some new presets in this release including:

- Remembering of metered sessions in different DAW projects
- A new navigation system that allows for sessions >10 hrs which is available if you have a large session.
- New presets: Public Radio (PRSS), expanded AES recommendation for streaming presets with a short form variant, added Sony Gaming preset for PS4 and PS Vita (ASWG)

We are in the process of turning Bute into a fully-fledged Loudness Suite

We have just released the Bute Loudness Suite. It includes the Loudness Analyser as well as a new integrated True Peak Brickwall Limiter and AudioSuite Normaliser. We have developed a novel limiter design that will reliably catch any overshoots in a very transparent manner. As always, we are continuing to work on updates to improve Bute even further. We are happy to take further input/ideas on board during the process.

There has been lot of interest in our pro-audio loudness solution from a range of professionals, so we’ve decided to split Bute into the Suite and the Analyser as separate offerings. We are now offering the Analyser at £69 (+ vat) for Stereo and £89 (+ vat) for Surround, whilst the Suite maintains the original price.

I just bought this, and love it. A bargain for the price. A couple possible ideas (really comparing it to the VISLM plugin).

Customizable colors would be fantastic. And one thing that VISLM has that I do miss, is sort of a color-coded 'range' that can show you your upper and lower limits, with that area in between a nice solid 'green' so you can really see at a glance visually if you're in the target zone, without having to rely on the numbers. So you set above -22LUFS to be one color, between -22 and -26 to be say green, and below -26 to be another. Really makes it very easy at a glance to see where you are in reference to loudness.

But otherwise really great plugin, and well worth the price!

Not sure NLEs would be your target market but downloaded and installed trial and did quick test:

Avid Media Composer (v8.9.2 - AAX) - seems to work fine, ganging of plug-in and sequence works well - good for seeing & fixing problem areas. Expand/Collapse worked. Really like the look of it. (TC for sequence not reflected in UI though - shows from 00:00:00.)

Resolve (v15b2 - this is beta)
Resolve crashed out when I tried to add the VST version of the plug-in.

The AU version worked ok but switching expand/collapse view does not correctly resize the plug-in window. Might well be a beta issue.

Gang seems to work OK - added bonus of correct sequence timecode in plugin UI.

Adobe Premiere Pro (v12.1.1)
VST3 Gang works. Switching to collapsed view kept plug-in window large but with a smaller black display where the collapsed view should have been. Closing plug-in window and reopening made collapsed UI appear - still within the larger window.

VST - Applied to master track OK but crashed Premiere when trying to open the plug-in UI.

AU - best version. Gang worked, switching collapsed/expanded had UI window resize and be populated correctly. (TC for sequence not reflected though - shows from 00:00:00)

Premiere has a bug/feature that for multichannel sequences only the audio routed to A1 hits the plug-in (i.e. plug-in shows as 'mono').
