Default Artist Series replacement faders

Hey everybody,

I have a couple of questions about the Artist Series faders. And this is all about the whole slider, not just the fader caps.

1) Can anybody tell who makes both Euphonix MC Mix and Avid Artist Mix faders?

2) Is it possible to replace them with better ones? I was wondering if you could replace the stock faders with something like the ones on the System 5 MC (I tried them on my last AES Show, they're so buttery smooth). I've had the Euphonix MC Mix for 3 years now, came from a ProControl environment before that... my first disappointment with them was the feel on the faders. So depending on the cost to replace these stock faders to get close to those System 5 MC units I'd totally go for it.

Besides that and the lack of a custom mapping for plugins, I just love this thing! It was my second best investment in the studio, only behind the proper acoustic treatment.

Cheers

kdarbyshirebryant, did you ask for a replacement just as an upgrade like I'm looking for or was it a faulty unit? If it was an upgrade, did you notice any big difference?

Thanks for the link. I saw these ALPS faders in my searches, they do seem to fit, but there's no way to tell by the photos only. And I don't know them, are they any good?

Cheers

Does anyone know whether the (MC Mix) Alps replacement faders are 5k or 10k dipping?

Thanks.

But this fader is without motorization?...

The version i found which fit the specs and with motorization is this one:

http://www.alps.com/WebObjects/catal...0K11A901L.html

But it look different to the ones wich are build in (i've seen pictures witgh the cover removed http://s1288.photobucket.com/user/dj...1b895.jpg.html ).

So i think it could be this one, too...

http://www.conrad.com/ce/en/product/...f=searchDetail

So, wich one is the right one...

Hi,

i've done some research and found out, that there are 3 Suptypes of the 10k Motorfader:

http://www.alps.com/WebObjects/catal...SN1M_list.html

The difference is the 'Terminal Style'

1: RSA0N11M9A0K Terminal style: Lead
2: RSA0N11M9A0J Terminal style: For PC board
2: RSA0K11V901S Terminal style: B Connector

Does anyone know, which one is the right thing for the artist mix?

Cheers, Tomess!

Hey,

i've try to buy a replacement fader from conrad electronics, but they sell a different unit with the specification 'RSA0N11M9A04'. I really dont know if this is the same like the 'RSA0N11M9A0K'. The only difference ist the 4 and the K at the end. Maybe this is a misspelling? I've talked to the technical service from conrad but they could not tell me if there is a difference. I've tried to contact alps but no response for two weeks. Does anybody know if this fader will be compatible with the artist mix? I really don't want to screw things up...

this is the specification on the conrad website: http://www.produktinfo.conrad.com/da...AON11M9A04.pdf
