No sound coming through my C|24

I just upgraded to a C|24 from my old ProControl and I have no sound coming through the board, not even on the headphones. I'm using the same snakes I used in my ProControl and they were working fine. Is this one of those things where I have to upgrade my snakes as well?!!

AFAIK, the snakes should be fine. Maybe review your patching to see if you mixed up something. Check the audio out of the interface too(to make sure its reaching the C24). Note that the C24 is expecting L&R to come out of 1&3(instead of the "obvious" 1&2). Double-check the switch settings on the C24 monitor section(it powers up muted by default). Hope something here helps(shooting in the dark as I am not there to look)

First time using C|24 I ran into the same problems. It took me quite a while to find the right settings. Maybe Avid should provide a better manual with step by step procedures for the defaults. Here is what you can check:

- (as albee said) make sure your main output is going to channel 1 and channel 3. Due to the surround sound capabilities, channel 2 is reserved for the center channel. To do: in PT select Setup->I/O->Output and set your main stereo output to be Analog 1 for left and Analog 3 for right channel.
- C|24 settings: In upper right monitor section, make sure the following settings are made:
-- first row: mode: stereo; L and R is lit
-- second row (knobs): if using speakers, turn first know until you hear your monitors. When using headphones use the second knob from left. The other knobs are not interesting for your problem.
-- third row: Only "Alt Mon" should be lit
-- fourth and last row: for speakers make sure that mute is not activated (default state). Make sure that "main" switch is highlighted.

These are the settings for default control room monitoring.
