Mix in 44.1 but monitor at 192k?
Hi there,
Is it possible to run a session in 44.1 but have the output upsampled for Monitoring? Gesendet von meinem SM-G965F mit Tapatalk |

Not from PT. You can run monitor output via SRC box but would not gain anything by doing so

Sure, output an analog signal, go through another analog to digital converter and either to your speakers or monitoring system digitally or convert back to analog and into your speakers or monitoring system.
But why? What would the point be? Do you think you can hear a difference at 192Khz?

All current converters I'm aware of up-sample everything so it's pretty pointless.

Re: Mix in 44.1 but monitor at 192k?
My two cents, take it or leave it: the point of monitoring is in the word... you're monitoring what the signal is. If you're mixing in one sample rate but your monitor signal chain upsamples to another, you'll be hearing something other than your actual output. It might sound better to you, but unless you use the exact same signal chain on your mix output when you bounce, you're mixing one thing while hearing another.
Even then, since most delivery formats are 44/48 or 96 etc, you'd have to resample the mix to 192 so it matches what you are hearing and then back down for deliverables...then you've gone even further from the mix. Monitor at whatever sample rate the project is at and hear what you're actually working on. My Mytek DAC has switchable upsampling...it sounds real "nice", but I leave it off. I want to hear what's coming out of Pro Tools, not some dream to make me feel good about myself. Maybe I'm not understanding something about your use case but this is what came to mind.
