Default Windows 10 Home, Pro Tools M-Powered MP9.. Need Recommendations, please!! :)

Hello fellow Pro Tools enthusiasts,

I have a question that may or may not be simple but I'm really looking for recommendations or if anyone knows, maybe a small list of potentials..

As I stated, I have Windows 10 Home edition and Pro Tools MP M-Powered 9. My poor ole first round M-Audio MobilePre of course has drivers for everything but that.. I've looked online but to no avail so... I guess it's time to upgrade.. Please help!

I'm looking to spend under $200 and if possible, under $100.. Don't get me wrong, i'd love something quality for my buck, but also don't need more than 2-4 inputs for my purposes.

Thanks in advance, and if you need any more PC details let me know!

On that tight a budget, I'd shop for a used Mbox2 or 3 and Pro Tools 10(good) or 11(much better)

With this budget, I could certainly get an MBox 2 or 3 but Pro Tools 10 or 11 are at least a couple hundred dollars, no? And i missed my chanced for a free 30 day trail of PT 10 with my first gen ilok by about... idk 6 years? lol

If you are happy with PT9, why the windows upgrade?
You could use the money on a ssd hd investment, partition it, and run a dual-boot machine, 7 and 10.

Well with that budget I would save a few hundred bucks more and get something that actually sound ok. Hudred dollars is just throwing money in the fire as you won't get anything that will hold you over for the next few years.

Ben, that might not be a bad idea!

And I understand that $100-200 is like money for an audio production band-aid than a permanent fix but i lost my macbook pro that i was operating on and thought this PC would be excellent... Didn't take into account that my hardware of all things wouldnt be supported by windows 10 yet - though it is an old first generation MobilePre.

In short, I have no way to record via Pro Tools at the moment, am tight on cash, but desperate for at least a temporary solution. lol

Have you tried the last Windows driver for Win 7, 8, 8.1? I'm using a M-Audio Project Mix that only has Win 7 drivers with my current Windows 10 system without issue.

Give them a try, they may work fine with Windows 10.

Hey Joel.. I believe I did try this and it did not work but could you please try to link the specific driver you're talking about? Maybe I downloaded the wrong one somehow.

Thank you all for your replies.. Hope to figure this out soon

There are a couple of Mobile Pre.

Older: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/d...re-USB-Drivers

Be sure you get the right one.

For some reason my PC is not finishing the update for the newest USB MobilePre Driver. Maybe because i'm on Windows 10? I'm not sure how you got it to work. I was able to do all of the other updates except for this one.
